In addition to the diverse fauna on 4546B, the planet boasts a wide variety of flora. Some are stunning to behold, others offer valuable resources, and a few should be avoided at all costs. Most plants can be harvested by cutting them to collect their seeds. These seeds can then be planted in growbeds, with success depending on the biome where the base is located and whether the plants thrive on land or underwater.
The plant life on 4546B includes a diverse array of intricate flora, ranging from acid mushrooms to towering giant tree mushrooms. However, no plant species have ever been documented in the Lava Lakes biome.
Although most flora is normally passive, some are considered hostile to the player. For example, acid mushrooms release a cloud of acid which damage the player in a certain radius. Other plants give useful advantages to the player by harvesting as a source for water and food.
Writing Weed
Type of grass often found in most biomes, common in surface areas such as the Safety Shores and Grassy Plateaus.
Nothing special about this plant but can be farmed in exterior growbeds purely for decoration.
Acid Mushroom
A type of fungi in found in most surface biomes, commonly found in the Safety Shores biome.
Acid mushroom is typically acidic meaning that this plant is inedible to most flora. It can be harvested to craft batteries which is what makes this species reliable to farm.
Table Coral
Type of underwater coral that is normally found in most surface biomes such as the Safety Shores and the Bulb Zone. It is a necessary harvestable plant used for crafting.
While this plant may seem ordinary, it is a necessary crafting ingredient for building fabricators in the player’s bases.
Brain Coral
Brain Coral is a large, underwater plant found in many biomes in 4542B. It’s unique ability to produce oxygen allows the player to restore their oxygen meter by 10 points, making this plant very reliable in the early game.
This strange mechanism of the Brain Coral suggests that it filters carbon dioxide from the water around it’s territory and produces oxygen to the surface. It may be a natural ocurance to spread oxygen around the planet’s atmosphere.
Creepvine
A large populated plant exclusively found abundantly in only the Kelp Forests of 4542B, this plant produces seeds when it is in their mature state. Their seeds are used to craft lubricant and silicone rubber, required to craft power and recipes for vehicles.
Seed Clusters are found around the top part of the creepvines. they can be collected in the Kelp forests for crafting certain recipes.
Tree Mushrooms
Large, complex natural organisms that appear in the Tree Mushrooms biome.
Despite being called tree mushrooms, these tree-like structures are actually made of solid stone infested with several fungi and spores that grow around these towering structures. The large mushrooms grow around these pillars which gets it’s name from.
The mushrooms can be harvested with the survival knife to obtain fungal samples used to make bleach.
Jellyshroom
Large fungal species found in the jellyshroom caves underneath the Kelp Forests and grassy plateaus of 4546B. These plants are home to the deadly crabsnakes that emerge from these mushrooms through their hole where they ambush unsuspecting prey.
Bioluminescent in nature, they light a purple hue throughout the caves and serve as a reliable food source for the organisms that dwell in this biome.
It has no particular use other than collecting their seeds and use for base decoration in the caves.
Tiger Plant
Found in the grassy plateaus in 4546B, tiger plants are hostile to anything that goes near their territory and shoot barbed thorns at their prey.
A unique hunting strategy developed by the tiger plant, it is advised to avoid them if necessary. It’s hostile towards other organisms may indicate to ward off certain creatures mainly herbivores that feed on coral and plants.
They are also found on Reefback Leviathans growing around the various flora scattered around their back.
Blood Kelp
Found in the Blood Kelp Zone, these gargantuan biostructures give a pale hueless colour that produce red oil that grows around the roots of their stems.
Blood Oil is found around the roots, making them useful for crafting benenze and synthetic fibers. This behavior of the blood oil production is unknown but it could theorize that it is used to feed certain predators or alike.
Anchor Pods
Large organic structures that are found in the Grand Reefs Zone, these huge plants are scattered around the biome giving off a bioluminescent blue light that gives the area a haunting but beautiful atmosphere.
Rumored to grow in massive sizes, once it’s reached it’s mature state it explodes spreading seeds to the ground floor to grow more of the Anchor Pods in it’s life cycle.
