The Survival Guide of Planet 4546B – to help you stay alive in an unknown world
The Planet 4546B is a hostile environment known for it’s terrifying leviathans and hazardous biomes. Luckily for you, this guide is a helpful source in order for you to survive and escape the planet.
Game World
The entirety of Subnautica takes place in an area called The Crater. It is approximately 3 kilometers by 3 kilometers in size, 1,700 meters deep, and is surrounded on all sides by the Crater Edge, a dangerous and mostly empty biome.
Subnautica‘s world is fixed, rather than procedurally-generated. This means all terrain, structures, biomes, Data Boxes and leviathan spawn locations are consistent between game saves.
There is some variation between saves. Most notably, the precise location of Lifepod 5 can vary (although it still always spawns in the Safe Shallows). Other variables, such as the contents of outcrops, are completely randomized.
Background
You play as Ryley Robinson, the Non-Essential Systems Maintenance Chief aboard the Aurora, a spacecraft sent to the Ariadne Arm by the Alterra Corporation to build a phasegate. Following the ship’s catastrophic hull failure and subsequent crash landing, he must find a way to escape from the water planet known as Planet 4546B, and discover the cause for the Aurora’s crash.
You normally begin in the Safe Shallows biome, you come out from your lifepod which is placed in different spots depending how you start the game, it is the same nonetheless.
Fragments
Fragments are pieces scattered all over 4546B, they are important items that are necessary to the player to craft useful tools, furniture, etc.
They must be scanned by using the scanner tool, it is also the most important tool in the game.
Fragments come in all shapes and sizes, from vehicle wrecks to base building decorations that can be scanned by the player.
If the player scans the fragments after they unlock the blueprint, they will receive two titanium ore as a reward.
Enforcement Platform
Disabling this building is a priority task in order to escape 4546B. The Enforcement Platform is located in the Island around the Mountains Biome.
To disable the cannon, the player must visit the Thermal Plant in the Inactive Lava Zone to hatch the baby Sea Emperor Leviathans in order to cure the Khaara infection for the player.
Players will require vehicles in order to reach some of the deepest areas in the game, including the Inactive Lava Zone which houses the Sea Emperor Leviathan in order to cure the player and escape the planet.
When this is complete, the player will then have time to build the Neptune Escape Rocket and escape the planet.
